Flashing Light
Assessed in MT-3221 Electronic Navigation
Condition
On a ship or in a laboratory using a device by which sends flashing light messages at a speed of 4 wpm; when sent two messages, the first consisting of the following:
- DE followed by a four-(4) letter identity signal, sent once;
- YU: Indicating that a Code Group follows, sent once;
- Text: Five random five letter groups, each of which is repeated twice; and,
- Ending: AR;
and the second consisting of:
- DE followed by a four letter identity signal, sent once;
- YU: Indicating that a Code Group follows; sent once;
- Text: Five three character code groups, each of which is sent twice;
- Ending: AR.
