Condition Behavior Standard

On a vessel, on a simulator, or in a navigation laboratory, using a GPS receiver that meets IMO performance standards,

the candidate initializes the GPS receiver, determines the vessel’s position and evaluates the accuracy of that position by independent methods.

The candidate:

  1. Initializes the system; and

  2. Determines the accuracy of the position.
