When asked on a written examination to describe patient assessment procedures in correct order,

the candidate describes (or selects the answer that describes) patient assessment procedures in correct order.


The candidate describes (or selects the answer that describes) all of the following patient assessment procedures in accordance with currently accepted practices, in the following order:

  1. Responsiveness (by verbal communication or touching);
  2. Airway (by listening and feeling);
  3. Breathing (by listening, feeling and observing); and
  4. Bleeding (by observing).
