ABE Task 10.9.A

Use of personal safety equipment

In order to satisfy NVIC 18-14 Task 10.9.A , MMA students must:

STCW Competence	Knowledge, Understanding, and Proficiency
Apply occupational health and safety precautions	ABE-C4.1 Working knowledge of safe working practices and personal shipboard safety including personal safety equipment

Condition	Behavior	Standard
On a vessel or in a laboratory or workshop, given the indicated equipment,	the candidate demonstrates the use of personal safety equipment appropriate to the task being performed	The candidate demonstrates the use of personal safety equipment, including: Gloves Goggles Respirators Aprons Face shields Steel toed shoes Hearing protection Clothing; and Safety harness.
