ABD Task 8.2.A

Demonstrate painting techniques

In order to satisfy NVIC 14-14 Task 8.2.A , MMA students must:

Condition	Behavior	Standard
On board ship or in a laboratory, when asked by a Qualified Assessor,	the candidate prepares and paints a surface.	The candidate: Applies the proper primer (if required); Applies the coating; Uses the proper tool for spreading the coating onto the prepared surface (e.g., brush, roller, sprayer); Blocks off of the area to be coated and secures ship’s equipment that may be affected; Mixes the primer and coating as required (in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions); Uses appropriate protective equipment; and Marks off the coated area so that it is not disturbed until ready for use.
