Condition Behavior Standard

On board ship or in a laboratory, when questioned by a Qualified Assessor,

the candidate describes possible scenarios that could occur during an enclosed space and the dangers involved in an enclosed space entry.


The candidate’s description includes:

  1. Workers being overcome by fumes and lack of oxygen;
  2. Rescuers not using proper safety equipment and being overcome by the hazard; and
  3. Stand-by personnel not being trained in their duties and what they may do that would be a hazard to themselves and others while trying to effect a rescue without proper equipment (SCBA’s, communications, etc).
