Condition

On a ship at sea or a full mission ship simulator during an exercise at sea, when help is needed because of restricted visibility, vessel traffic or safety of navigation.

Performance requirement

Behavior	Standard
Recognize the need for additional personnel on the bridge and notify the master.	The candidate notified the master immediately of the following: restricted visibility was encountered or expected; vessel traffic density or the movements of other ships caused concern; the vessel will transit restricted waters with vessel traffic; the candidate was fatigued to the point decision making is affected.

During assessment, the student shall, at a minimum:

Recognize the need for additional personnel on the bridge and notify the master.

The candidate notified the master immediately of the following:

restricted visibility was encountered or expected;
vessel traffic density or the movements of other ships caused concern;
the vessel will transit restricted waters with vessel traffic;
the candidate was fatigued to the point decision making is affected.
