Condition
On a ship underway or a full mission ship simulator, using navigational or natural terrestrial ranges.
Behavior
Take a visual bearing of the range and determine gyro-compass error.
Standard
- The visual bearing is compared to the charted bearing.
- The compass error is determined and properly labeled.
- The solution is ± 0.5° of the assessor’s solution.
