Condition
Aboard ship, having a main propulsion machinery of 750 kW or more, while underway in engine room.
Behavior
Conduct an inspection of machinery spaces before taking the engine room watch.
Standard
- Status or condition of main and auxiliary machinery (including fuel, feed water, and exhaust systems), control systems, indicating panels and communication systems is correctly determined, described and reported ;
- The status and condition of the steering system and all associated gear is determined, described, and reported;
- The condition of the bilges with respect to water level and contamination is determined, described, and reported.
- No safety violations are observed.
