DEMO - 3/c Practical at Barnstable Mass Firefighting Academy Facility
- participates in demonstration of fire attack
- sounds the alarm prior to fire attack
- is nozzle operator and displays ability to control and extinguish fire with
all purpose nozzle
- acts as #2 person on hoseline and shows proper overhaul skills
- acts as #3 person on hose line and maneuvered hose in such manner as to
maintain an un-interrupted water supply
- demonstrates proper use of P.P.E.
- demonstrates proper procedure for own rehabilitation including, hydration and
cool down activities
- selects proper extinguisher in a Class A and B fire
- shows ability to protect others by using safety hose line
- assigns others in deploying 2 _" hose lines to protect a firefighting team
while shutting off the fuel supply to a pressurized fire
- displays proper hose handling techniques while participating in exercises
- displays proper use of PPE while participating in exercises
- dons and doffs SCBA unassisted
- demonstrates ability to properly change air cylinder
- sounds alarm prior to fire attack
- demonstrates use of fire extinguisher in a confined area
- participates in a live fire practical showing proper extinguishment and power
shut-down of a fry-o-lator
- uses an all purpose nozzle equipped with a low velocity applicator to perform
an in-direct attack of a compartment fire
- returns all gear, tools, equipment including PPE, hose, nozzles, fire
extinguishers and SCBA to readiness state
