-The following is a brief explanation about the "World Wide Classroom."

" This sea term, Cadets Mike Holland, Brian Sullivan, and David Stanton took charge of the "World Wide Classroom." project. The main objective of this project is to give young students, as well as adults a chance to experience what happens during the sea term. Prior to our departure in January, we visited several schools including: Job Lane, Elazer Davis and Nate Perry Elementary. Friends Academy and the Hedge school visited the campus, and took a tour of the Training Ship Patriot State. We also kept in close contact with the Fay school. On a daily basis during the cruise, we transmitted digital images and challenge questions from the ship via shortwave radio. We also put together a photo gallery, that can be accessed by clicking on the blue "here" above (just below the photo.) A pen-pal program was put together between the cadets and some of the elementary school students, the letters and postcards were exchanged in the ports of call.

-A special thanks to everyone that helped make the project possible, especially, but not limited to: Dr. Malcolm MacGregor, CDR. Bruce Hartwell, William Hayes, Capt. Rick Gurnon, Dr. Alan White, Dr. Amanda Woods, Prof. Jim Hathaway, and cadets Ryan Woodland and Jessica Harlin.
