Sea Term '97 San Juan, Puerto Rico

Pictured left is the Sierra Palm, which is one of the most important trees in the forest because the endangered Puerto Rican Parrot feeds on its fruit. When Christopher Columbus reached the Carribbean Islands, there were over 1 million of the Puerto Rican Parrots alive, today there are only 42 left. The river pictured on the right is home to 9 species of fresh water shrimp and also guppies.
